Hello everyone,
The Journey Map, after much labor and laptop-cursing, is now wholly operational. Lisa spent a lot of time on this so please take a look. It has just about all of our photos to date, 90 percent of which were taken, downloaded, photoshopped (when necessary), and uploaded online by her — a time-consuming process. And you wonder why she hasn’t been posting to the blog.
Speaking of which, we’re in Australia now, menacing the roads of Queensland, which means it’s time for Lisa to write about the country we just left: New Zealand. So look for that soon.
We miss all of you and in case we forget: Happy Holidays!

Glad to hear your safely in Australia. Miss you guys too. Your father left yesterday for Wyoming for Andrews’ graduation. Yippie. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and know that you owe us a holiday celebration upon your return.

Hey, there was a military coup in Fiji. I’d love to hear your perspective.

Aunt Jo,
We miss you guys a lot. Give our love to the whole family.
As for the coup, we’ve been reading about it quite a bit as both New Zealand and Australia have an obvious interest in the matter. As far as we can tell it’s purely a power grab on the part of Bainarama. Keep in mind this is Fiji’s fourth coup in 30 years. It seems to be, unfortunately, a natural part of the political organism there. Hopefully it remains bloodless, like Thailand’s recent insurrection.

George Bush clearly needs to bring democracy to Fiji. Is there oil there?

Nope … plenty of sugarcane though. And coconuts.

Bummer. I heard George quit doing the “sugarcane” years ago. Right after his daddy swept all that National Guard business under the rug. Of course, back then he used to call it “Texas Booger Sugar.”

As is usually the case, it seems, Pagel emerges victorious at poker night. Down with Pagel!
Happy holidays, guys!
Since you failed to risk your lives blackwater rafting, I suggest that you write a new list of activities that could kill you. We need something new to vote on!
