Left-right: coming into Krakow in the morning; old town in the early morning; tongue of the church bell at Wawel
Birds flock around the central square
Three views of Krakow from church tower of Wawel
Sculpture outside Dragon’s Lair, Wawel; water spouts; more birds
Statuary; Lisa downtown; synagogue
It’s possible to walk across Krakow without leaving the shade of large trees. Parks are everywhere. The city is covered in birds, mostly pigeons, who swoop wildly around church spires and natter excitedly in the treetops.

Krakow was great, we loved it and we want to go back … Veliko Tarnovo in Bulgaria is a very nice town, surrounded by pretty hills … Brasov in Romania, and most people also stop in Sinaia but I’d only go there in winter, for the skiing … Budapest is terrific, but Bucharest is not … We missed out on hiking in the Tatras but we’ve heard a lot of great things about the border between Slovakia and Poland … Gdansk was really great too, as you’ll see soon when I put up some pictures of it ….

Hey Guys-
How are you? I spent 10 days in Western/Eastern Europe this past May. In fact, I think I was in Mannaheim Germany the same days you guys were in Western Germany. Wouldn’t that have been funny if we would have run into each other? I wish I would have known you all would be there as we could have met up and shared a veggie schnitzel. Anyway I loved Eastern Europe, out of Prague, Krakow and Budapest, Krakow was my favorite! Also worth a trip is Pilzen, CZ home of Pilsner Urquell and an awesome beer museum!
Hope you both are well. Can’t wait see you when you are back in the states!
